Programs

Pre-Professional Health Programs

The School of Science offers excellent preparation for students who are interested in a career in health care. A student who graduates with a degree in biology, chemistry, physics or psychology has acquired the essential skills and the courses needed for entrance into the health professions. Students are encouraged to meet with the school's health professions advisor.
Pre-Professional Checksheets.

Pre-Medicine

Students planning to apply to medical school must choose a degree program in addition to taking courses that fulfill the admission requirements for their chosen medical school.

Pre-Dentistry

Exceptional students may be considered for admission after three years of college (90 college credits).

Pre-Veterinary Medicine

An organized four-semester curriculum allows students to meet the requirements for admission to the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Pre-Pharmacy

The pre-pharmacy program comprises two-and-one-half to three years of study at IUPUI during which time students may apply to the Pharm.D. program at Purdue University.

Pre-Optometry

The program is designed for transfer to the professional program at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.

Pre-Physical Therapy and Pre-Occupational Therapy

Students make take any undergraduate program and include a set of core courses needed as prerequisites for a graduate degree in physical therapy or occupational therapy at the IU School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
