Graduation Deadlines
One year before graduation
A student who is one year from graduating should request a senior audit from the School of Science Dean's Office, LD 222. Senior audits provide students, who have 80+ credit hours a detailed account of how their IUPUI and/or transfer classes will count towards their science major. Applications for senior audits are available in the School of Science Dean's Office, LD 222 or you can download the application directly and print it. Completed forms should be submitted to the School of Science's Director of Student Records and Retention in the School of Science Dean's Office, LD 222. Senior audits will take 4-6 weeks to process and the audit will be sent to the student through regular mail. Students are only provided one senior audit.
One semester before graduation
A student who is one semester from graduating should complete the following steps.
December Graduates
- File a graduation application with the School of Science Dean's Office, LD 222 by May 1.
- File a CANDIDATE (CAND) 991 authorization form with the School of Science Dean's Office, LD 222 by May 1. CAND 991 is a zero credit hour course that officially places a student's name on the graduation list.
- Register for CAND 991 during the fall semester.
- Complete the Graduating Student Assessment Survey by December 1. The website link to the survey will be sent to all students who apply for December graduation during the fall semester. The Graduating Student Assessment Survey is a confidential survey that is designed for students to assess the School of Science and its' programs.
May Graduates
- File a graduation application with the School of Science Dean's Office, LD 222 by October 1.
- File a CANDIDATE (CAND) 991 authorization form with the School of Science Dean's Office, LD 222 by October 1. CAND 991 is a zero credit hour course that officially places a student's name on the graduation list.
- Register for CAND 991 during the spring semester.

August Graduates
- File a graduation application with the School of Science Dean's Office, LD 222 by February 1.

- Register for CAND 991 during the spring semester.

Graduation Audits
School of Science students who have applied for graduation will have a graduation audit prepared approximately 6 weeks before the start of their final semester/summer session. Graduation audits are only prepared for students after they have registered for their final semester.
The School of Science Dean's Office and the student's major department will review the graduation audit. Both departments will determine if a student is recommended for graduation. An e-mail will be sent to a student's IUPUI e-mail account regarding the graduation recommendation. If a student is not recommended for graduation, a student will be provided with the list of remaining requirements that will need to be completed before recommendation will be considered. If remaining requirements are not corrected in a timely manner, a student's name will be removed from the graduation list.
