Commencement

Graduates of December and graduation candidates of May and August in a given academic year are invited to participate in the May Commencement Ceremonies. Commencement details, including location and cap and gown information, will be sent out at the end of February by the Office of Alumni Relations and the School of Science Dean's Office.

There are two ceremonies for students who are graduating from the School of Science. The Main Ceremony is designed to celebrate an entire school's graduating class. Students, other than Ph.D. graduates, are not individually recognized, though students do walk across a stage and receive a commemorative gift. The School of Science Graduation Ceremony is designed to individually recognize students who are graduating from Science. Students are individually recognized as they walk across stage to receive their diploma cover. Students can choose to attend both, either or none of the graduation ceremonies. Students who do not participate in the ceremonies are still eligible to graduate, pending final review of their academic records.

Diplomas

Diplomas are not presented at the May Commencement Ceremonies. After degrees are awarded, students will receive a letter in regular mail informing them when diplomas are available to be picked up in the School of Science Dean's Office, LD 222 or how to have the diploma mailed. Early requests to have diplomas mailed will not be accepted.
