Earth Sciences (Geology M.S.)

Geology master's students are funded with competitive stipends, tuition waivers and health insurance. Sources of funding include research grants, fellowships, scholarships and teaching assistantships, which involve teaching 100-level laboratories or managing 100-level online courses with a commitment of 20 hours per week.

The department typically supports all full-time Ph.D. students and a limited-number of qualified M.S. students. Fellowships and assistantships carry stipends up to $22,100 for 12 months, plus tuition waivers and health insurance. Beginning graduate students who wish to be considered for financial support should supply all application materials by February 1 for fellowships and March 1 for assistantships.
