  • The School of Science enrolls more than 1,800 majors—1,452 undergraduates and 374 graduate students, including 98 Ph.D. candidates and 276 M.S. students.
  • Fifty-eight percent (58%) of the school’s undergraduate students are between the ages of 17 and 22. Fifty-nine percent (59%) are female, and nearly 24 percent are minorities.
  • Nearly 450 students graduated in the class of 2007 with associate, bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. degrees. The number of undergraduate degrees increased by 24 percent, while graduate degrees conferred increased by 45 percent.
  • Twenty-six (26) undergraduate students were named among the Top 100 IUPUI Students in 2007, including four Top 10 Males.
  • Nearly 225 full-time faculty, research scientists and staff.
  • Faculty attract nearly $6.5 million annually in external research funding. More than half of these funds is devoted to health and life sciences research.
  • In 2006, faculty members published nearly 375 research papers, abstracts and technical reports. They authored eight books, contributed 22 book chapters and gave nearly 475 seminars and professional meeting presentations. Twenty-eight faculty members serve as journal editors.
